For basic Australian Immigration guidelines please read
below:
New Zealand and Australian Passport Holders
If you hold a New Zealand or Australian passport you are
eligible to live and work in Australia and do not need to
apply for a visa.
Immigration for non Australians and non New Zealand Passport
Holders
There are several ways you can gain entry into Australia to
work. Options to work are as follows:
Working Holiday Visa
You can apply for a Working Holiday Visa if you are between the
ages of 18 and 30. This allows you to work in Australia for
up to one year, but only for six months with one employer and then
you must move on to a different health board or hospital.
Geneva's Consultants will discuss this with you further once
we have received your CV.
Sponsorship
Hospitals will be prepared to sponsor you and your
dependents/spouse to work in Australia for up to four
years. This process takes approximately four weeks and cannot
be commenced until you accept a job and we have received your
Australian Registration and your police check.
Australian Residency
If you wish to apply for Permanent Residency (General Skilled
Migration) this can be done at any time in or outside of
Australia. To be eligible you must be 45 years old or
under. This visa can be processed quickly if you are a fully
Registered Nurse.
If a Nurse is to be assisted by a hospital or health service for
Permanent Residency (Employer Nomination Scheme) they can be 60
years old or under. But if they're between 46 and 60
years old the employer must prove and meet the requirement that the
position is essential to the business functioning, and the employer
cannot find a more suitable applicant.
