South Australia

South Australia is located in the southern central part of the
Austrlaia . It covers some of the most arid parts of the
continent; and is the fourth largest Australian
state.
The first city/town to be established was Kingscote, Kangaroo
Island, established in 1836. The aim was to establish the
province as a centre of civilisation for free immigrants, promising
civil liberties and religious tolerance. Although its history
is marked by economic hardship, South Australia has remained
politically innovative and culturally vibrant. Today, the state is
known as a state of festivals and of fine wine.
Climate
South Australia's average temperature range is 29°C in January
and 15°C in July. Daily temperatures in parts of the state in
January and February can be up to 48°C.
Adelaide
Known as the city of food and wine, Adelaide is a place to
experience the lifestyle, culture and convenience of a big city
without the frustrations. Set beside the River Torrens, its broad
flat streets are conducive to walking, its history is reflected in
its many beautiful buildings, and its oases of parklands make
Adelaide the perfect base from which to enjoy South Australia's

Adelaide is the capital and most populous city of the Australian
state of South Australia, and is the fifth-largest city in
Australia, with a population of more than 1.1 million. It is a
coastal city situated on eastern side of Gulf St. Vincent, and is
situated on the Adelaide Plains, north of the Fleurieu Peninsula,
between the Gulf St. Vincent and the low-lying Mount Lofty Ranges.
It is roughly 20 km (12 mi) from the coast to the foothills but
sprawls 90 km (56 mi) from Gawler at its northern extent to
Sellicks Beach in the south.
